By Steve Outing on 5/4/2007 on Hey, everyone, we here at YourMTB.com have a cool new opportunity for you. We want you to race in a 24-hour race (seriously!) -- and get a free entry -- in exchange for you being a "YourMTB correspondent" (in other words, covering the race). You can apply here. We've started working with Granny Gear Productions, of 24-hour race series fame. Granny runs 6 races a year across the United States -- Vail Lake, Moab, Landahl, Conyers, Big Bear and Killington (listed from west to east). This is part of a new program where we're asking event and race organizers to offer up free entry to compete or be a spectator for one or more YourMTB member correspondents. Granny's races are just the start. You should soon start to see lots of races and events that you can agree to cover in exchange for free entry. What do we mean by "cover" and be a "correspondent"? ... Foremost, we expect our correspondents to have FUN. And while you're having fun, just snap some photos, shoot some video clips if you've got a video camera, and write some blog musings about what you're experiencing at the event. Then post the cool stuff to YourMTB.com. Easy. Fun. We're not looking for ex-Sports Illustrated reporters (well, I guess we wouldn't turn one down if he/she applied). We're looking for MTB enthusiasts who enjoy photography and writing, and who'd enjoy doing this. Here's an announcement about the Granny Gear 24-hour races. Click here to apply for this fun program. |
