By walker on 8/2/2007 on walker's blog If the Singlespeed craze hasn't hit you like single-serving packets of sugar, well you aren't drinking enough of the coffee. Singlespeed group rides, festivals, races, hair-dos are hitting the trails like smog on Los Angeles. So, I'm riding with my buddy and plan to ride singlespeed when he pulls up in a three-gear??? Three-gear... We're talkin' three chainrings like your mountain bike and a front derailleur - no cassette. My friend thinks he's going to start a revolution, sorry Steve, EVOLUTION! Is the three-gear phenomenon local to Durango, or do you have crazy, scientific friends like I do? Who else is playing with the gearing gods? Is it even legal? Post a comment or send a picture of the craziest gearing you've ever seen - that actually works! |

Over here in Northern Northern California we take our Triple Speeding seriously, Mr Thompson. It's a full-fledged movement, complete with semi-secret, local only group rides and after-hour setup forums at the shop. Triple Speeding IS a wonderful cylcing expereince in this over-engineered world we live in. But don't tell anyone. |

No, my answer to the math question is not wrong but the question is stupid. Um, I don't understand this 3 speed thing. I am very tired of the fragility of 315 speeds and want to simplify. Can you explain the set up? PS don't tell anyone but me! Thanks |
