By stevevs on 6/18/2007 on stevevs's blog The race went great. They shortened the swim from 1600 to 1000 meters because of water temperature but the water wasn't that cold at all. The bike went well, the last big climb was a killer, it was hard to hold anything back for the run. The run could have been marked a little better, I hate when I have to stop and try to figure out which direction to run. The run started with a gradual uphill which hurt after the bike. I just shortened my stride and kept running. I finished right where I hoped to, I was at 66% of my age group. If it were a grade it would be a D-, but it was an improvement on my last race and there's room for more improvement. I had a great time, and immediately signed up for the Crested Butte Xterra in July. |
