By TomZ on 1/18/2008 on TomZ's blog Here's an interesting and crazy story for you. Apparently a California man robbed a bank this past Wednesday, then used a mountain bike as his getaway vehicle. From Recordnet.com:
Around 12:50 p.m., the man walked into Union
The man took the bag, He wasn't wearing a helmet, either. It's one thing to rob a bank and escape on a mountain bike, but it's another thing to do it without proper protective equipment. No one's really sure what the robber's note said, but I'm guessing it went something like this:
This is a robbery. Put all your money in a paper bag. Wait... actually, make that a plastic bag. There's a chance of rain and things could get messy if we go with paper. Oh, and make sure you don't put any coins in the bag, because my bike is kind of old and it can't handle any excess weight. After you give me the cash, I want you to close your eyes and count to 15,000 so I can escape. Oh, and one more thing. If you try calling the cops, I swear to God, I'm going to leave tire marks on your floor.
