By walker on 9/20/2007 on walker's blog On a lunch ride with my co-workers, I stopped to say hello to a tourist hitting up our Durango trails. On the road from Minnesota, that guy was psyched to be in the sunny Southwest. He was on a rental bike, but the first thing he noticed was my Stumpjumer. Almost immediately he broke out in conversation about his 2007 Specialized Enduro. His conversation was all about his bike. I could see/hear the passion. Of course, I told him all about www.yourmtb.com. But, I thought of a good blog post after his conversation. It centers on the two types of mountain bikers... Mountain Biker Type A - those that LOVE their bike Mountain Biker Type B - those that HATE their bike Type A loves their mountain bike. They see others with a similar frame/model and they think, hey this guy/gal is one sharp cookie. Probably has great math skills and remembers birthdays. I'd probably vote for them in any presidential election. Type B HATES their mountain bike. Everything is wrong with it. They never seem to "get it fixed". When they see someone on their brand/model, they think, this guy/gal must be as stupid as I am. They probably club baby seals for fun. I bet his/her mother hated them. Either, positive or negative, what type of rider are you? By the way, you can read about both types of riders on www.mtbr.com. They seem to have the most opinions... |

I questioned that as well. He was spraying about his enduro, but no enduro. Oh, but how we love what we can't ride... Walker T Off the road, on the mind... |

So what's the problem. Maybe the guy didn't want to risk his bike on vacation. What's this Durango trails stuff? It sounds like the writer doesn't know which trail he riding, whats his problem? I have been riding Durango trials for 30 years and meet lots of folks from everywhere, don't read between the lines. Slim |
