Lately, me & my fellow riders have been hitting BootLeg Canyon Sat mornings. BootLeg Canyon is in Boulder City, NV towards the Hoover Dam. During the Viva Las Vegas summer HOT months (June-Sept), the only way to get some riding is early in the mornings & done by 8:30am, after that temp starts to climb to 3 digits, HOT!!!

Big ride @ Brian Head, UT was on the plans for June 23rd.

Got all prep up for the 12 mile trail but at the last minute decided to ride on a lighter load & left my extra tube, patch kit, & pump since I didn't even used them on the last ride. Of course to make the ride interesting, I got a total of 4 snake bite flats on that trip, 1 flat cause me to crash & tuck n roll over a rock garden. We even had to buy a tube from some rider in the middle of nowhere.

Got myself a new entry bike (Diamondback Coil EX) for this MTB race. Was planning on getting in share for it but work travel kept me off the saddle for weeks. Almost died from lack of oxygen but made it up a few inclines, sand traps, missed some cactus, & finished the race. My 14 yr old son made it back as well. Sponsors raffled a lot of good stuff & we came home with a tool kit, Giro helmet, Saddle, & an awesome light kit (inside joke). That day proved that I was a long way from being in shape...My motto: Ride on & ride hard!
