By h.hill on 7/7/2006 I was sitting here today thinking(I do that every couple weeks)and had to share this. 3 years ago this coming January, I was involved in a car/bike accident.(guess who was on the bike) I sustained cervical, and lumbar vertibray damage, and pretty much permanently damaged my right ciatic ( hope thats spelled right) nerve. I was off work for an extended period of time and recovery was slow. During this time, our oldest son graduated, and his sister became a senior. Things got very lean around our home, and it was not the best of times. During it all though, my wife Jude was always optimistic and helped me (all of us) through that bad time. |

Fathers day at Alafia
|
By h.hill on 6/18/2006 Happy Fathers day to all you Dads and soon to be Dads. We went out to Alafia state park in Brandon FL. If you have never heard of it, I'm not surprised but it is gaining popularity. It has something for all level of riders from just starting to double black diamond. The swamp club organized a ride, and the trails were in exellent shape. We started out on the sand pine trail, a basic single track that is good for warmups or beginners. Then rode the bridges trail and went over to roller coster and moonscape. The last two have cutoffs to keep you out of the difficult sections. There are several more trails at Alafia, including the infamous "Gator Back". |
Fathers day Ride
|
By h.hill on 6/17/2006 We are getting a group together for a Fathers Day ride at Alifia State park. Just wanted to invite anyone local who has, or has never ridden Alifia to join us Sunday morning. I will post some pics and let you know how the trails were. I drive a blue S-10 with a hardtail Iron Horse in the back. We are just recreational riders, so don't worry if your just getting into it. Hope to see some new faces out there! |
