By walker on 2/2/2007 on walker's blog Have you ever taken your ex to a race? He or she was ONCE your significant other and now you're at a race and it's friends with benefits. That can be a weird time in your life. They want your attention, but you're racing. Buuuut, you can't just turn them away, because they are supporting you, too. It's like bouncing a basketball in both hands. No matter how good you are at it, you still have to concentrate on just one ball. So, I'm going to this 24-Hour race in a couple of weeks. I once went to this race with an ex. She was tough to be around. The kind you thought would cheat on you. Yeah, rough. Now, I'm going to the same race with my fiance who IS THE BEST 24-HOUR RACE SUPPORTER EVER!!! And, she's hot. I love her and she helps me do better! Now, it is your turn. Have you ever had bad memories-of-an-ex-at-a-race issue syndrome? If I opened up, you can to. Post a comment and tell Dr. Mountain Bike all about your feelings. |
Memories of your ex at an MTB race

A couple of years back I took a "girlfriend" to a trail race. When I finished she was no where to be found. I stumbled upon her laying on a towel tanning about a quarter mile away. She didn't see me walk up, so I just dumped my water on her and walked away. She didn't last much longer... Haha. |

I once went to support a then-girlfriend at a triathlon. Five hours later, after she finished, I stood by for another hour or so as she recovered, talked to teammates, packed up, etc. On our way out of the race area, we ran smack dab into the guy that SHE HAD CHEATED ON ME WITH! Slightly awkward. The drama behind the scenes at races! Enough to make a soap opera jealous! |
