I actually slept most of the night before the race. Yesterday was my b-day, but I did not want any celebration till after the race, so I had my typical pre race meal, Chicken, veggies and brown rice pasta.

Got up at 5:45am downed a Bagel with turkey , a cup of coffee, couple trips to the head and I was off to the race by 6:45am.

the only thing I hate more then the day before a race is the morning of the race! The pre race jitters is what got me to start racing 6 years ago. I was 41 and was going to do one of the Thursday races at Northstar and the thought of it drove me right on to the can!

I guess I'm one of the "chosen ones" who will do anything for a free race entry even try something new to me Blogging. This will be my 5th Downieville race and this is my first and probably last attempt at Blogging.
