By walker on 6/8/2006 on walker's blog Are you interested in going pro? Do you dream of thousands of fans screaming your name as you ride? Well, according to a new website and a partnership with USA Cycling, you just might get your chance. Sponsorhouse.com is one of the only places online where you can show your stuff to 50,000 other athletes and some sponsors. Their idea is to create an online space where your accomplishments come first. They have also joined forces with USA Cycling. The partnership is all about promoting the use of Sponsorhouse.com and it makes sense. For example, after a race you'll know the Sponsorshouse.com members by a link via their name. In other words, if you race and you are a member then you will be promoting yourself and Sponsorhouse.com. I'm a member. You can see my profile by clicking here (if you are a sponsor and want to give me hundreds of thousands of dollars, you should definitely click there). My opinion of the program is that it is OK. The free offering gives you the capability to meet with other riders, which is nice. However, without paying for the service you may not reach folks at General Electric for a sponsorship. Unfortunately, I haven't upgraded my account to the paid version. And, I probably won't. I have made some new friends and I liked seeing my name underlined in the results section of races. If you are a member, give us the scoop on your Sponsorhouse.com experience. If you aren't, do you think this is a good idea? Or, are you sick and tired of sponsors contacting you already. |
