Well the rain came through southern Vermont on Sunday morning and turned the race course into a muddy bit of fun. Riders were slipping in and out of corners during most of practice. By the afternoon the track had dried up considerably and the times became a bit quicker. Ben Moody killed the Pro field by 10 seconds with a 248 followed by Chris Higgerson (also known as Silence) with a 258. filled out the top three. Will Collins took the Jr X win and Kyle Hickey smoked the expert class by a handful.

Mt Snow attracted a full Field of 225 racers to the opening race of the Mt Snow Iron Horse VT State Championship Series. The course wasn't much but it was fast. Utilizing some new ski slope linking previous courses together there were absolutely no surprises. As in previous years the lift line was ridiculously long. Some racers reported a 40 min wait just to get on the chair. Most people were only able to take 5 or 6 practice runs. Fortunately that was all that was needed to become comfortable and aggresive on this Sea Otter of a DH course.
