We had a great race weekend if you weren't there. Just over 225 riders competed in the Iron Horse DH Series presented by e.thirteen Race #1. It was an interesting weather weeekend as good old Mother Nature couldn't make up her mind on what she wanted to do. Saturday was hazy and muggy with tons of bugs flying around. The course was mostly dry with some muddy sections. Sunday morning brought a dense fog atop the course with a drizzle mist that wouldn't let up until mid morning.

Give us a little background about Mount Snow as a venue for Mountain Biking Competitions?

Mountain Bike Competitions have been held at Mount Snow for nearly 20 years. The 2007 USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships will be 19th consecutive major mountain bike competition Mount Snow has held. By major event we are talking about World Cups, NORBA National Championship Series Races, Jeep King of the Mountain and even the inaugural 1995 ESPN Extreme Games. (Yup, Mount Snow hosted the XGames in the summer too!)

The Iron Horse Downhill Series has partnered with YourMTB.com for grassroots coverage of the summer-long racing event.

That means that at each of the 4 weekends of the Series -- June 9-10, July 7-8, August 18-19, and September 22-23 -- 3 competitors and/or spectators will be blogging about the races and shooting photos and video. (12 correspondents total.)

They'll share their content on YourMTB.com's Iron Horse Downhill Series Grassroots Channel.
