No Banner today...

By Steve Phillips on 9/3/2007

I had every intention of returning to Banner Forest today after a great ride yesterday. As I approached the parking lot around 2pm, I noticed an abundance of police about. After being waved on, I stopped at the other entrance and asked the officers there what the deal was. He said the forest was closed because of an "incident". Not sure what happened, but I will investigate. So I scurried home in hopes of finding another close place to ride on the internet quickly so I wouldn't waste the day. I found Beaver Pond/Wildcat at dirtworld.com. I drove up to Bremerton and checked it out.

Yet another day at Banner.

By Steve Phillips on 7/28/2007

I am getting to figure my way around now, trails looking more and more familiar. Discovered a nice bridge today too. Some woman with her dogs was looking for a beaver pond. Had no clue where that is. Anyway, fixed my gear adjustment problem...looking forward to another ride soon.

Getting back into the swing of things

By Steve Phillips on 7/25/2007

I got my first ride of the summer in today. I know, I was underwater for 3 months. It felt great to be back on the pedals again. Banner Forest isn't much, but it was enough to get me going again after a long hiatus. I might go back tomorrow and explore a little more. Can't seem to find my hydration bladder so drinking water is a pain, having to stop to get some refreshment. Glad it's not hot here in the great Northwest.
