By weeman on 7/19/2006 on the 6 august 2006 there will be an mtb race in nant y arian, wales, united kingdom. this is the first race of this type to be held in ceredigion. The event incorporates the Welsh Schools Mountain Bike Championships and is supported by the British Schools Cycling Association. This is the first time that such an event has been held in Ceredigion having been always based in South Wales in the past. We hope that you will be able to bring the event to the attention of children in the County. This is an ideal opportunity for children to improve their cycling and get more confident with their bike handling skills. The event is being generously sponsored by Summit Cycles with support from Continental Tyres (UK) and the Forestry Commission. |

By weeman on 6/27/2006 THE SIMPLE DROPThis is the most common kind of drop, although I'm treating it as a beginners obstacle. I've seen more bikers eating dirt on simple drops than on larger ones. The problem is figuring out how to tackle the terrain and then choosing the appropriate technique for handling it. If you have the luxury of being able to stop and check out the drop first, do it. Riding something blind is always a recipe for disaster and midway down a near vertical chute is not the time to figure out that your chainring is going to bury itself into the lip. 1 POSITION |
