Well I just got back from a great ride out at Caesars Creek State park. We took the most difficult trail at the park and we were not dissapointed. There is a section of the trail known as the super bowl and that it is. Its like a giant half pipe. It was a little intimidating atfirst because of the rock halfway up the ascent but not enough to stop us from attemping it. What a rush man. The speed is incredible and the adrenaline rush is awesome. Further on down the trail we had an unfortunate accident. One of our riders did an edo and flipped forward down a steep hill. He will be alright. |

Scioto State Park Ride
By Zachary1873 on 6/15/2007 Well this last weekend I went to Sciot State Park to ride the trails there with a group of MTBers that go by the name of the spokejunkies. (www.spokejunkies.com) This was a great group of people. The trails at Scioto state park are for the more advanced so of course I was the last rider in pack. The uphill climbs are enough to make the most advanced riders stop and take a break. I rode as far as I could and walked the rest of the way. After reaching the summit, the ride back down was awesome. I am talking about some fast technical downhill that goes on for about a mile at a time. |
2007 Trek 6000 Review
Well here is my unoffical review of the 2007 Trek 6000. I was riding a 2006 Schwinn Mesa because I was not sure I was going to actually pick up this sport. After my first ride and crash I was hooked. I ne I needed some better euipment but money was an issue. Finally I decided to buy a new car (05 Xterra)and sell my old POS car. The money I got for the POS was what I could spend on a bike. I made enough to buy a Trek 6000 with disc brakes. First off I love this bike. The disc brakes alone make it a smoother ride especially when the terrain is a little wet. |

80% recovered and back on the trail
Well Its been a few days since the broken rib and I am getting out tomorrow morning for my first ride back since the crash. We are going to caesar's creek state park here in Ohio. It is pretty technical so it should be a good test of how my recovery is going. Hopefully there will be no major accidents and the rain will hold off. I should be posting some new pics and possible videos. I will keep you all posted. |
Broken Ribs
By Zachary1873 on 6/3/2007 Hahaha! Wear your helmet and other protective gear when riding folks. While riding a trail at John Bryan State Park (Lowere Great Scott Loop) I attempted to jump a ramp and ended up tangled up in some trees. After a quick 6 hr trip to the ER I ended up with one broken rib and a very painful memory. Also I will post the video of the accident here soon so look out everyone. Its pretty boring for about two minutes but after some kids sticks his tongue out I will crash twice in a row. |
Looking to purchase a new bike
By Zachary1873 on 5/19/2007 I am pretty new to the sport of MTB. I am looking for a good starter bike. The trails around dayton ohio are fairly technical. I was considering a trek or possibly a Gary Fisher. Any thoughts on this would be great. I am riding a 2006 Schwinn Mesa I got at the beginning of last year. I wasn't sure if I was going to really get into this but now I really want to. Any advice for newbies would be great. Thanks all |
