Injuries/medical

Adorn the Gord!

I came down with pneumonia in October. I just got the last bit of yuk out of my lungs in the past few weeks. I feel significantly better. I have my strength back, but what aerobic ability I did build up from this past year's riding season seems to be gone...if not a little worse than I started with. I read that fully recovering from pneumonia can take up to a year.

Bummer!

By PLS8006 on 8/9/2007 on PLS8006's blog

So my buddy and I are riding regularly now. Then he goes and break his arm. It shows us that were not invincible. It is weird how I am paranoid now and fighting to stay motivated. I will ride today and try to push through the negativity. This getting older stuff sucks!

Broken Ribs

Hahaha! Wear your helmet and other protective gear when riding folks. While riding a trail at John Bryan State Park (Lowere Great Scott Loop) I attempted to jump a ramp and ended up tangled up in some trees. After a quick 6 hr trip to the ER I ended up with one broken rib and a very painful memory. Also I will post the video of the accident here soon so look out everyone. Its pretty boring for about two minutes but after some kids sticks his tongue out I will crash twice in a row.

Arnica Montana, my friend

my bumped knee.... hairy aren't they?

Arnica has been a friend for a long time and I thought I'd share a bit why.

Usually i get help from 'it' when i am in trouble, like smashed into something :):(
Last weekend i needed some help again ... after doing an endo over a big rock where i couldn't extract my knee from the bike (stuck between handle bar and frame)... how the hell did i do that... following my friend Steve too close :(

Anyho, Arnica Montana is a more than a friend, it's extract from a plant. You can find this at Whole Foods, Vitamin Cottage and any other store like that... it's been the best stuff to use for me over the years.... Arnica is not a brand but the kind of product (gel or pills). I recommend both....

By walker on 4/11/2007 on walker's blog

This week in the podcast, I spoke to Nick Kapustka and Rachel Coburn, the two founders of Serving Life Chiropractic in Durango, Colorado. I've been getting treatments there for a little while now, and I wanted to share with you guys what they're all about and how they're helping athletes just like you! Their website, www.servinglifechiropractic.com, will be up and running soon. In the meantime, take a listen:
