Everyday more news seems to come forth about mountain bikers being restricted/prohibited/removed from trails. You name it, we get the blunt of the proverbial big stick coming from the smooth talkers from god knows where. I just read the "news" section on www.yourmtb.com that the Full Tilt in Telluride, a multi-day event and part of the Mountain States Cup will drop the downhill race this year.

On Sunday, January 27th, the president of the Jamaica Cycling Federation,
Vaughn Phang, was in Los Angeles meeting with other leads to discuss increasing
the prominence of cycling in the region.

The meeting resulted in him announcing plans to introduce mountain biking and
BMX as an elite sport in Jamaica. Phang learned a lot in the meeting regarding
funding, administration and other areas in which he’d have to focus to truly
bring mountain biking to the country.
