OK, so we're late on this one. We apologize, but things have been a bit crazy in recent months. Anyway, we were remiss in awarding prizes for best blog, best photo and best video from the 24 Hours of Landahl race back in September. But we have 3 cool Nite Rider lighting systems to give away and we want to honor our commitments, so let's do it! Best blog We may not have made it to Landahl, but we know what it's like after reading Ray's blog entries. Racing 24 hours on the Landahl course involves crashes, getting lost, having your light fail, a dog eat your donuts, and all sorts of memorable fun. Ray's great post, "Dispatch from Team Hidden Donut," wins the Nite Rider system. But we also enjoyed his shorter blog entry, "Why on earth would you ride 24 hours?" Best photo 24-hour racing means challenging photography conditions in the dark hours. But the winning photo, of rider Matt Gersib, shot by Mark Savery, surmounted the challenge. Savery captured Gersib with a flash, but somehow also managed to get the beam of light coming out of his helmet light. However Savery managed it, it's a cool shot. Since Gersib submitted the photo here on YourMTB.com but Savery snapped the photo, we'll let them fight over who gets the Nite Rider system. Video We have to be honest. Of the videos submitted from Landahl, none were exactly Oscar winning caliber. But we've got another Nite Rider system to give away, and we can't keep it for ourselves. (OK, we're tempted.) So the winning videographer is kcmtnbiker for "Cowbells, we gotta get a cowbell." Congratulations to all the winners! |

Whoot! I got mine last week. Thanks so much to YourMTB.com and to the good folks out at Granny Gear! I can't promise I'll be any faster this year, but hopefully I'll do better at seeing just how slow I'm going at night! =) |
