Downieville Prize Winners Announced!

The 2007 Downieville Classic came and went...but one last competition still remained - the best photos, blogs and videos! Competitors and spectators shared their photos, stories and videos from the race here at the YourMTB.com Downieville Classic page, and to make things a bit more fun, we held three contests for those that submitted their stuff. Without further ado, here are the winners!

BEST PHOTO: More photos were submitted than anything else, and the quality was superb across the board. But eventually, one photo emerged as the jaw dropper of the bunch: foxshox's river jump shot. He scores a sweet a Downieville Stay, Play and Eat package -- 1-night hotel stay, meal, bike rental, shuttle service, and soft goods (value: $200+).

BEST STORY OR BLOG ENTRY: We had quite a few great story tellers covering the weekend -- but by far the most compelling and detailed report was from tag1969. His blog was well written, insightful, entertaining, and exciting. For such meticulous reporting, he earns himself a Downieville Stay, Play and Eat package.

BEST VIDEO: Okay, video cameras are allowed inside the Downieville, right? We just wanted to make sure, because we only got one video post! To put it mildly, the competition was slim. But, like Woody Allen says, "80 percent of success is showing up." And for doing just that, YourMTBer ariemay gets an automatic win. He actually caught a pretty spectacular crash on video, so we can award him the Downieville Stay, Play and Eat package in good conscience.

BONUS RAFFLE: We also held a raffle for all members of the Downieville Grassroots Channel, giving away 3 packages that include: t-shirt, socks, bike rental and shuttle service. Those winners are: Oknobby1, Merlin, and ibikergal.
