We're late. We apologize, but things have been a bit crazy in recent months. Anyway, we were remiss in awarding prizes for best blog, best photo and best video from the 24 Hours of Moab race back in October. But we have 3 cool Nite Rider lighting systems to give away and we want to honor our commitments, so let's do it! Best photo |

OK, so we're late on this one. We apologize, but things have been a bit crazy in recent months. Anyway, we were remiss in awarding prizes for best blog, best photo and best video from the 24 Hours of Landahl race back in September. But we have 3 cool Nite Rider lighting systems to give away and we want to honor our commitments, so let's do it! Best blog |
HydraPak Post of the Week - Multi-tasking
This week's Post of the Week, sponsored by Hydrapak, celebrates the idea that man or woman does not live by mountain biking alone! YourMTB.com member Lumpy shared a cool photo of a mountain biker partaking in some extracurricular trail activity: climbing -- in full MTB regalia, of course. (We do wonder how those biking shoes fared as climbing aids.) For sharing this stellar example of athletic multitasking, Lumpy will be well hydrated on his next mountain biking/climbing trip with a new Scramble Hydration Pack from HydraPak! (Also comes in handy for fall protection to the back -- whether cycling or climbing.) |
Pixie Mate Post of the Week - Trail champion!
This week's Post of the Week winner didn't even have to post to YourMTB.com to win! It's mtbmike, a.k.a. Mike Barrow, a.k.a. president of the Boulder Mountainbike Alliance (Colorado). Why did he win? For this heartwarming photo (posted by YourMTB.com publisher Steve Outing) of Mike ripping up a "No Bikes Allowed" sign on Boulder's Flatirons Vista/Dowdy Draw trail. Nope, he's not vandalizing; Mike got the honor after a trail work day, after which the trail was opened to bikes for the first time. Mike and his BMA colleagues and volunteers are a big part of the reason that the trail restriction was lifted. And the group has been having success getting more new trails for mountain bikers in Boulder County. We think Mike deserves an award, so he gets Post of the Week, which includes a great gift pack from Pixie Mate (which just happens to be a Boulder-based company). What have you done to deserve Post of the Week? Post a great picture, blog or video, and next week you could win! |
HydraPak Post of the Week - Airing it in Moab
A new photographic talent has found his way to YourMTB.com and already he's winning prizes! Deo Abesamis has shared several great shots from Moab and his native Calgary, and we thought this Moab action pic was Post of the Weekable, for sure. For sharing this Moab goodness, Deo Abesamis will be well hydrated on his next trip to the desert with a new Scramble Hydration Pack from HydraPak! |
Thomson Member of the Month - September
The newest Thomson Member of the Month wowed us with some great action photos during September. edlops has a fast shutter finger, apparently, because he captured his speedy friends flying through the air, sometimes in oh-so-cool machinegun-shutter style. For entertaining us, we award edlops as Member of the Month, which means he'll receive a Thomson seat post and stem of his choice. Check out edlops' picture gallery for the evidence of his photographic prowess. Who will be the next Thomson Member of the Month? Continue posting cool stuff to YourMTB.com, and next month's winner could be YOU! |
Pixie Mate Post of the Week - Book our ticket to Zurich!
This week's Pixie Mate Post of the Week is a classic tourist shot. That is, it made us want to pack our bags and become MTB-riding tourists in the Swiss Alps. ljorgie took a great photo of his girlfriend riding a trail in Zermatt, Switzerland, with the Matterhorn in the background. It'd make a killer postcard. For stopping trailside to capture the idyllic Alps view, we're sending ljorgie a Pixie Maté V10 Survival Kit. Share your postcard view, and next week you could win! |
Pixie Mate Post of the Week - High-altitude dirt jumping
Crested Butte: Wildflowers. Mountain splendor. Epic singletrack. ... Dirt jumping park? This week's Pixie Maté Post of the Week comes from the epicenter of mountain biking, Crested Butte, Colorado. But it's not what you expect to come from that high-altitude MTB mecca. Gunnifreeride caught this outstanding action shot at a Crested Butte dirt jumping park. The rider's position in the sky, hovering momentarily above Mt. Crested Butte, made for a great shot. Thus, selection of this week's winning Post of the Week was a no-brainer. For snapping his shutter at just the right moment, we're awarding Gunnifreeride this week's Pixie Mate Post of the Week, which comes with a Pixie Maté V10 Survival Kit. Recount your tale of MTB endurance, and next week you could win! |
Pixie Mate Post of the Week - 24 Hours
24 Hours. No, not the TV show. The 24 Hours of Landahl has you off the couch and on your bike. (Let's see Keifer Sutherland do that!) YourMTB.com member mgersib (aka, Matt Gersib) rode in Landahl for his first attempt at 24-hour racing -- solo! (Most 24-hour crazies do it as a team.) And he posted a great write-up about his experience. |
