What should I use to clean out my camel back so it doesn't taste bad when I refill it with water? My water tastes like plastic. Thanks

they have cleaning stuff for them... look at any major online site and you can get it...

EMS.com has them...

Nashbar is cheaper....

other places I'm sure these guys can point you to

With a 13 yr old son, you can only imagine 'what' was left in the camelback and for how long.... I use a light mixture of bleach and water, like 1/4 cup bleach for the 100 oz bladder and fill it up with water. Let it soak for a while and then rinse it out really good a few times. No more odor, bad color or taste.

hey i dont know if this would help but try a lil viniger and water i used to clean my retainer with it im not sure if it will work on a camel though lol

i also hear that baking soda works, just don't mix the baking soda and the vinegar -- unless you want a new 'bak.

Yeah, I don't have a Camelbak, but I know vinegar and water really clean out a struggling coffemaker.

yup... all are good... one other .. I hear some people use regular denture cleaners.. fuzzing gets into areas and cleans out placs others can't... throw the hose and mouth piece in the bladder add water and a couple tabs... the more you break the thing down the cleaner it'll be.

Until now I've only used water in mine. I never really even considered anything other than plain water.

What about if I used a watered-down sports drink like gatorade? Would this be a problem?

Funny that you say this but actualy this is very close to waht I use to clean mine or my Water bottle's. lemon juice instead of vinager though.

Baking powder first mix with water swoosh it around etc. Pour out. Then Pour in Lemon juice and the remaining residue of Baking powder will fizz And that cleans it out good.

then rince lots and dry.
