Anyone own a Cannondale mountain bike? I'm curious what you think?

Hey Walker! I own an older full suspension Cannondale. It's a 2000 Super V 700SX and I love it. You can check out the specs of my bike and many Cannondale bikes at their website. They have an archive section for older model years. My wife also has an Killer V hardtail model which is pre-2000. I'm certainly no expert but if you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask.

Check out www.cannondale.com

Walker,
I realize you asked about Cannondale a while ago but I just found this post.

I bought an '06 Cannondale Prophet 1000 in May and I love it. It's my first full susp bike so there was an adjustment period but I savour every minute i'm on it.

The frames are built right here in Pennsylvania about two hours from where i live and i hear their factory tours are awesome! A local bike shop told me they run other big name bikes to failure through some pretty rigourous tests just to show you how tough the Cannondale bikes are.

I haven't taken the time to take the tour ( too busy biking ) but I think it would be cool.

Windsurf-

I think you're referring to Cannondale's Lefty front shock design. I have had no problems whatsoever with mine. They track nicely, weigh less (in most cases), and also make it very easy to work on your front tire in the event of a flat - you don't have to remove the wheel.

actually, I think you guys are talking about two different things:

Cannondale has a lefty, and also has a headshock. I've seen both on the website, in the LBSs, and on the trails.

it's a single shock on the fork, at the head tube area... just saw a guy riding one today... otherwise I wouldn't have known :)

I have a 26lb, 2006 Cannondale F600 Headshok. I absolutely LOVE IT. Before that- I rode a very heavy(33lb) 2006 Trek 4900 disc, for an entire year. Riding that Trek was like training with ankle and arm weights, because when I got the Cannondale- I was literally floating up hills, and accelerating like a guided missle on descents. Compared to the 4900- the F600 almost defies gravity. It was like trading a new Mustang GT, for a new Porsche 911. The 3lb Cannondale frame is pure, handmade artwork. The welds are so clean-it looks like hand-laid German artisan carbon fiber. The 2.5lb Ultra Fatty Headshok in the 'dale is one of the lightest, strongest front suspensions in the market. If you want the MOST bang for your buck......really not much compares to Cannondale bikes.

I've got a 3 year old Jekyll. I had a Trek prior to buying the Cannondale, and it was like going from being a novice to a pro. The bike will take anything you throw at it. It's a great all-mountain bike, it's fast, and it's great to take off drops and jumps.
