Costa Rica trail info needed

Anybody out there have any good trail recommendations in Costa Rica? I'm headed there for a month in May and would love to do a little riding. I'll be on the Nicoye Peninsula (west coast). There's a shop in Tamarindo with some trails, but that's about all I can find. Not much on the web other than tour operators. I'll probably have to go that route unless I can hook up with some locals in the know. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!
