Have you ever bonked before? |

Wow now I would have to say that is a serious "BONK"! |

Yep....I bonked in the 2000 Mt Snow XC Race. Anybody that has raced that course can tell you that is a brutal one. I remember my legs turning to limp noodles like the video. I tried pushing my bike and fell many times, usually over top of my bike. I also had tunnel vision with a little loss of color. I remember being sooo hungry, when I finally made it back to my pit area I ate a whole block of cheese ! |

I thought I knew what bonk was until I saw it on the video, and as described above. Most people, like me, I'm sure have been just seriously dehydrated. MikeG Either riding or Thinking of Riding... The madness of MTB, I love it! |

I've bonked before, but not to the extent of the woman on the video. I had some serious tunnel vision, limp legs, etc. NOT FUN! Alex |

I always carry some candy and a few granola bars in my backpack...I've needed them quite a few times. |

Have only bonked once and vowed never to let it happen again. Tunnel vision, irrational decision-making,etc. Went riding in a new area open to bikes and underestimated the distance. I was so exhausted I could barely walk on level ground, let alone up and down hills. Decided to leave the trail when I spotted the highway in the distance. Big mistake - abandoned my bike in the trees because I could no longer push nor ride it. Later, dumped the CamelBak too because it felt too heavy (it was empty!). Finally made it to the highway and hitched a ride to my car. Slept in the car for 4 hours after eating food stashed in the car. Drove home because I was unable to remember where I left it. Took another five days to locate it; never found the CamelBak. Needless to say, I ride and race much more conservatively... |
