Welcome Mark: Also from St. Cath. Where do you go? 12-mi creek or Short Hills? MikeG Either riding or Thinking of Riding... The madness of MTB, I love it! |

12 Mile creek is great.I go there after working all day to unwind. It's alittle muddy right now. LOL |

The East side, South of the pedestrian bridge, going up to Brock was not bad at all last Saturday (early) morning. Of course the wet parts were frozen at that time. The West side is a mess though. Do you go to Short Hills too? When do you ride? If you ever want to go with a bunch of us, we ride at dawn most every Saturday morning. I know its early, but... Shorthills is an excellent place to ride, lots of trails..also lots of horseback riding that chews up the trails, the challenge is to bunny hop the piles of horse shit!! |

12-mile was the best i got sick air 6 feet of a dirt hill |
neex says:
joel: You were able to get 6ft of air in Shorthills? That's awesome. Was it at the bottom of the Hog's back or the DH behind Brock? I know.. the dirt jumps at the bottom of Hydro Hill right? Anyway, glad you had fun. I like staying a little closer to the ground unless it's a drop and very subtle. I with I still had the balls to do some of that stuff I used to do on skis but I'm a litle more cautious now. I think I might have gotten 6ft off the bottom of the last DH into Port on the old Lake to Lake course though. I remember hitting the lip, missing the path and landing just before the sand. That was fun for sure. Do you guys know where any of the hidden trails are in 12 mile/SH? I guess they're not really 'hidden' but they were carved a few years back by a local NF rider/builder. He even gets out there with a mower to groom the flats sometimes! I'm talking about Marv's U Turn, etc with all the wood bridges and good, short, steep and narrow climbs. I have to turn my DH bars to thread myself between the trees but it keeps out the ATVs so I guess it's a good idea. Nobody forced my to ride XC with DH bars anyway... Take care. |

My spellchecker is going haywire - sorry guys. I'm not really a drooling metal patient - I just sound like one. Fix the PC or tend to the screaming baby... hrmmmm... time to ride... |
