Is there such a thing as camping wine?

I'm curious as to your camping wine selection. Do you only buy the twist top bottles? What cheap brand do you gather in your cellar before a camping trip? Are you a magnum drinker? I'm a wine lover, so if there are any out there, besides me, speak up...

Ok wine for camping. This is good. It too drink vino when I partake in nature. Now my philosophy on wine is simple. Drink what you like and keep it under $12 - everyone's tastes are different but remember too that life is too short to drink bad wine. There are many wines under $12 dollars that I like. Most peoples' pallettes are not developed enough to taste the nuaunces between a $10 bottle and a $50 bottle.
If you are - I tip my hat to you.

My picks:

------
Fat Bastard Merlot:
http://www.fatbastardwine.com/fbwine_merlot.htm - this is outstanding.

-------
Bin 888

WYNDHAM ESTATES "BIN 888" CABERNET MERLOT SOUTH EASTERN AUSTRALIA 750ML
A medium to full bodied wine blended from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Bin 888 displays ripe blackcurrant, cassis, cherry and spice characters. The elegant and sophisticated palate is enhanced by toasty oak. Blackcurrant and smoky, leafy flavors linger on the finish. ( More than $12 Cdn - but worth it )

-------
Tarapaca from Chili is good as well.
The mid-priced Reserva line of wines from Vina Tarapaca (imported by California's Beringer Estates) is impressive at $10

These are in my top 5 list of wines to drink - enjoy!

My fave is a box wine that comes in a small red box-sorry I don't know the name. It's the nicest box wine I've tried and I love that it travels so well. You can remove it from the box and are left with a nice flexible plastic sac. My favorite is the red, but I believe there is a white avail by the same brand. Enjoy!!

Mmmmmm Beer! Beer I like when camping - Mickey's (small stubby bottles that look like grenades)*made by Miller. My other favorite is Corona with lime. Cheers!

I'm glad to hear that I'm not alone in my passion for the nectar on the trail. I hate to drink alone!

My current favorite is from Spain:

Osborne Solaz 2004
Tempranillo Cabernet Sauvignon
(it's 80% Tempranillo and 20% Cab)

The best part - I can get it at BevMo for $4.99 a bottle. It easily rivals much more expensive wines that I've tasted.

IN VINO VERITAS - anybody know their latin?

I too will be happy to sample a new wine. The price is nice too.
Translation for 'In Vino Veritas"

Latin expression meaning that when you drink alcohol you tend to get loose and sometimes say things you normally wouldn't say had you not imbibed.
Literal translation= "Truth in wine"

Hey how about "In MtnBiking Veritas" - for 'Truth in Mountain Biking'

I also found a site for the wine listed above as well:

Cheers!
