Looking to pick up a new bike!

Hey guys, new to the site, but I'm looking to pick up a new bike and I've been reading a lot and wanted to see if you had any suggestions. Once catch: I have a nice gift certificate to 5 different bike shops in the Atlanta market so I'm working from these brands: Specialized, Scott, Cannondale, Trek or Gary Fisher. I don't know as much about Scott bikes so I was hoping you could fill in some gaps. I've been riding for 17 years but I'm just getting back into it and my Trek 9200 is about to kick the bucket. I do want a full suspension (around $2000+/-) and love downhilling (in GA/NC) and all mountain type of riding. Any info would be helpful! Thanks

Well since i work for a specialized dealer, I must blatantly recommend the '08 fsr. The brain in the rear rocks and I really dig the fox fronts.
