Newbie no bike yet

Hi all! I am a newbie here. I've gone to a couple of trails in the Philippines with my buddies, but i never had my own bike. The group always had a extra bike that i happily used :) Now that i am back here in California i've decided to get my own. I'm still in the process of research and deciding which bike i need. I've narrowed it down to getting a HARDTAIL (and that took quite some time already ..lol) next would be deciding if i'd get a 26er or 29er, but i think i'm leaning towards a 26er mostly because of the availability of parts. And i'm looking towards a groupset of at least in the Deore level.

Hopefully i'll learn a lot from you all, and get my first MTB soon :)
