Opinions on the Ultimate Truing Stand TST-80R ?

By MarkLewman on 12/4/2007

Hello -

Does anyone have any experience using this truing stand? I'm used to
using the traditional/ParkTools style truing stand that measures
deflection on both sides silmutaneously... and holds the wheel on both
sides at the same time, self-centering (the style of the TS-2), however
I have never used a truing stand that holds the wheel by one side and
measures deflection one side at a time... like this:

Are these truing stands any good? I see that they also measure vertical deflection of the wheel...
How, exactly, do you true a wheel on these with efficiency and accuracy?

Thanks.
