Some people say that meat is the way... Others still want lots-a pasta... What is your secret/way-of-life theory to powering your legs?

Personally, I just love food! However, I've found that if I don't inhale carbs, there isn't much "go" left in me after about an hour of any sort of physical activity. I have significantly less muscle aching and soreness if I consume protein for recovery, but since I'm usually tired after a long ride or a workout, I often end up with more pasta because it's fast and easy. On the trail, I have a preference for the texture of GU Gel but I don't get as much "go" out of them as I do from Clif Shots or Stingers.
