Quality mountain bike rentals in Phoenix, beyond

When flying to any given city, chances are that with all of the options available, you'll be able to rent any kind of car you want: sports car, sedan, truck, convertible, etc. You'll most likely even get to choose a color.

Is this the case with mountain bikes as well? Is there a selection of quality mountain bikes available to rent when we're visiting areas without our trusty steeds?

I'm flying to Phoenix, AZ this weekend with my girlfriend Abby to attend a wedding. We'll have an extra day in town, and wanted to check out the local mountain bike scene without having to shell out major dough to ship our bikes. Does anyone know of a shop that rents decent-quality bikes in the Phoenix area?

Furthermore, how about suggestions for any other major cities or mountain biking hubs?
