![]() By absurdnerd on 3/4/2007 Hello all, I was hoping that someone out there might be able to recommend some fun rides in San Luis Obispo County, CA, because I'm planning to go camping and biking in/around Montana De Oro State Park over spring break. I'm an intermediate rider who's looking for some gorgeous scenery and adventure along some fun (but not too technical) singletrack trails. Any advice from locals or other gurus would be greatly appreciated, thanks! :) |

Trails in San Luis Obispo County, California? |
Anonymous says:
Montana de oro has some awesome rides. Ridge trail is a killer downhill that is fun for everyone from beginners to experts. Fast flowy natural berms. East Boundary and Barranca are also good legal trails in Montana de oro that you can make some sweet loops out of. Irish Hills in san luis obispo also has some good fun xc riding, king trail and mariposa are two of the best trails there. There are also a ton of trails leading down off of cuesta grade comming into SLO. Most of them are pretty technical, but shooters or morning glory would be a blast, enough technical stuff to keep things interesting, but you won't feel like you are going to die. There are also some good trails on madonna mountain, just stay off of rockgarden as it is pretty challenging for an intermediate rider. For more details, you can ask at any bikeshop in town as all these trails are legal and well known. Have a good spring break if you haven't already gone. |
