What are the points for?

On our profiles....what are the earned points for? Is it just so we know who's most active or can we redeem something...like a title or something?

I brought this up a while back, I got an answer that basicly said ["we want to do something with the points but we dont know what yet"]

So perhaps when they figure it out I'll have enough points to do something.

I was wondering that very same thing myself.
