What's the trick with the GPS tracks

By megafrenzy on 8/22/2007

I've been trying to spread the McLovin with some GPX data, but my files come in many tracks and only segments of the ride can be shown.

Any tips on how to take Garmin Edge course (crs) and get it to be one single "track" GPX. I've been trying to mash it up, but I haven't done XML since 1st grade on my Commodore 64 back in the seventies. Uh yea dude, my head is spinnin trying to figure this out.

So what's the trick?

Ok folks, the trick is to edit the GPX file, use WORD or even notepad. You can only have one segment, which in the GPX file is denoted by <trkseg>.

Edit the file so there is only one <trkseg> at the beginning of the file and one </trkseg> at the end.

The ones you want to get rid of are in the file like this "</trkseg><trkseg>" , so search and delete all occurrences and everything will be dandy. When you are done, it will all be one segment and your trail posting will be complete.

I have to say this website has one of the best format for trails, keep on submitting them.
