Why do they take down our dirt jumps?

By Mista_Bika on 7/9/2007

Well me and my friends build dirt jumps in some fields in the middle of nowhere. Where there is only dry grass and not much animals except maybe gophers.

Well we build some dirt jumps and put hard work into them for a long time then one day we come and the dirt jumps got taken down by some bulldozer.

My friend's dad said that they took it down because if we got hurt, then the city would get sued.

Anyone got any other reasons why they take these down?

because you did not communicate with the Land Manager. When your building jumps tricks and stunts. You have to let the people in power know that you know what your doing. If the person who owns said field in middle of nowhere is ok with it then you can build if not it is there land.

I'm a looking at doing a story on the lack of dirt jump areas/parks in Calgary - I'm looking to speak to a group of young people who want to see more areas they can use for jumping. Mail me at mcgarved@cbc.ca if you're interested in doing a quick interview about this.
