The 2007 Ore to Shore MTN Bike Epic is a point to point race from Negaunee to Marquette, MI. This is Michigan's largest "mass start" race, with 874 riders competing on this 28 mile course. Rule number one: Don't fall on the first turn!! This year was extra dusty and sandy due to the lack of rain. (What's a little sand?!) And what would a Michigan race be with out a post-party hosted by Bells Beer!! Sweet :)~
The Maybury XC race was on Aug. 25. The night before the race was the worse storm of the season with heavy rains and 4 reports of tornados around the race park!! The rain let up alittle after noon, to make for one soupy mess on the trails. The conditions got so bad that my class was cut back to 1 lap, instead of 2, which by the end of the course was fine with me. It was like riding your bike round a 7.5 mile long slip & slide!! But hey......where else could ya go to have this kind of fun?!! Peace, Dave
Here's my question for all to answer. What is the best spot for that pre-ride fill up? You know, you've linked up with your buds at around 7:00 AM...where do you go for a quick bite before you hit the trails?
One thing about going on rides in Pennsylvania or for that matter anywhere in New England is that you need to have lots of spare change for the toll roads. This particular ride cost us $4.50 round trip, plus gas. Allen and I drove about 50 minutes north east of West Chester and headed out to
Today is lucky 7/7/07 and we have some great news to share. The Evomo Mountain Bike Team is proud to announce that Turner Bikes is now our official bike supplier.
We decided to meet again up with Jake for his regular Thursday evening ride over at Marsh Creek. This time we checked out the trails in the North West section of the park. I totally enjoyed the trails we hit last week and was definitely look forward to seeing what the rest of the area had to offer.
French Creek State Park is much larger than Marsh Creek. Our trail head was at the East Entrance past the Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site. With over 7000 acres you would figure that would a lot of trails but most of them are actually closed off to mountain biking. We were limited to the trails in the northern section of the park which was just fine.
