Glacier In Switzerland |
drumdance says:
Holy cow! Do you actually get to ride *on* the glacier? |
A-bomb says:
We were on the south side of the glacier, there's a trail on the north side that runs parrallel with it. It's my belief that the glacier would be too unstable. There are crevaces and large gaps running the length of it. I have been inside that glacier in an ice cave. I'm not quite sure, but i think it's base is frozen solid, witch allows the ice-flow to run its course above. It's in a constant state of motion, so being on top would be really sketchy. If you stick around long enough, you can hear HUGE amounts of ice cracking as it moves. It's really scary. |
