Ok I have seen pictures like this before and wondered but now I have to ask...How? what camera or computer trick is used to capture a picture like this? I would love to know. it is a great pic. Thanks |
Carl says:
Shoot manual with a long exposure and potentially hit a quick flash in the exposure to freeze the subject. The bridge shoot I took at the dirty spoke 12 hour race was around a 10 second exposure @ 100 iso and I was to far away to flash the rider with a flash and freeze a moment in time. |

What makes this picture so nice, though, is that you can see the forest really well. What's causing the light off to the far left? |
Carl says:
There is a fant image of the rider and a shadow on the tree that would indicate flash of some sort was fired from lt to right Or it could have still been light enough out that the rider only needed his/her lights under the trees and that is a hole in the trees canopies allowing light in I can see alot of gold between the leaves indicating possible sun light. These are just my guesses. |
Andrew Kornylak says:
The shot was a 30-second exposure, and I used an off-camera flash during the exposure to illuminate the trees, etc. I think this was around 1 am. -Andrew |
