yeah, I don't know how that google map got on there, it's way off. It was definetley on the east shore. The whole time I was making the 4 mile climb up to the Flume Trail, the song, "Stairway to Heaven" was playing in my head. SARGE: NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER STOP TRYING! |

i wondered. i knew that if you were on the flume trail, you were facing south. most people ride down that section starting from either spooner lake and make a loop by riding back along the highway or shuttle from tahoe meadows. the shuttle is phenomenal, although i personally like to ride it all the way back to spooner -- 20+ miles and 1k to 2k+ in climbing depending on your route. there's some great video of some of this trail floating around, although the site escapes me at the moment. |

The first day we started at Tunnel Creek, where the old Ponderosa Ranch was. We rode Tunnel Creek Rd up to the Flume Trail, to Marlette Lake and Back. The next day we rode from Spooner Lake to the Flume Trail and back without taking the shuttle. The guys at Flume Trail Bikes that is in Spooner Lake Park had great maps and equipment in the store. They even did a emergency bottom bracket fix to one of our bikes in the group in about 20 minutes so he could get riding. I saw several videos, I have one from Steve Wolf that is pretty good.
