The Aybss - Nanaimo, BC

I couldn't figure out what your photo was showing, so I Googled it. For the benefit of others not familiar with this trail, here's what Trails.com says:

"The Ultimate Abyss takes its name from a huge fissure in the volcanic rock making up the ridge on which the trail travels."

How deep is that thing? Looks like you wouldn't want to drop you keys right there. Cool.

Yes I guess I could have been more descriptive. The Abyss is pretty deep - cannot actually see the bottom. It varies in width and no you would not want to drop your keys or anything else down there. We make a offering of water down the fissure everytime we pass it.

thats crazy i wonder how much stuff has been thrown down there
