By iDrew on 2/8/2008 On Sunday, the third season at New Zealand’s Coronet Peak Bike Park came to a close. Due to plans for renovation, this year’s season was shorter than usual- lasting just over a month. According to Operations Manager Jeff Hodge, Coronet Peak is a destination for riders of all levels, from amateurs to top level racers. The most notable events included the Subaru South Island Downhill Cup, the NZCT South Island Cross Country Cup, the Vertigo Chain Free Downhill, and the Nzone Brake Burner. Well known mountain biker Scarlett Hagen also hosted a training program for riders of all ages and skill levels. Coronet Peak Bike Park includes a 4.2 km Downhill Cross Country Trail, a competition-level Downhill single track for the more skilled, and a mini park for the freestylers.
