New MTB Trail Opens in El Paso County, Colorado

By tmg820 on 5/8/2008

Just recently, the El Paso County Parks Department, with a big help from volunteer workers, finished a new mountain biking trail in Bear Creek Park.

The trail is 2.5 miles and was designed specifically for mountain biking. Some local retailers and organizations have already begun organizing mountain biking races at the park for the summer.

Brian Kay, park planner with El Paso County Parks, said, "The trail is a great place for people to train and learn the sport of mountain biking. Our hope was to regenerate that grass roots level support for mountain bike racing in our community and develop those younger riders and increase the interest in the sport."

If you're in the area or visiting, give it a shot.
