Nice gloves      [ top of page ]

Posted by: skogorbet on 8/24/2006
I really like these gloves. They are the first full finger pair I have ever owned. At first I though it would be too much glove, but when I put them on I hardly even noticed that I was wearing gloves. Very comfortable. My hands do not get hot in them at all. I haven't had any problem with the fingertip rubber coming off, but then again they don't do much anyways as far as grip goes. Nice gloves, I'd buy a pair. Scot

Fingertip logos don't stay on, but otherwise good      [ top of page ]

When I first got the Spenco Trail Pro gloves, I liked the little logos on the fingers. Little did I realize how quickly they would come off. Within 20 minutes of the first ride, three of the four we partially detached. By the end of the ride, I two of the four had come off (and are now stuck on my monitor at home). Other than that, the gloves hold up quite well. Took one tumble, with no ill effects to the gloves. The padding in the palm seems a little low for my riding style, but they are still very comfy. Still have one very long downhill trail (that always causes my hands to hurt) to test them on next week. We'll see if the padding makes any difference from my old gloves. Attached is the photo from the ride on last Saturday at the summit of Mt. Tzouhalem in Duncan, BC, where we took a small break. I'm on the far right, subunit1's on the far left.

Spenco - Trail Pro review #1      [ top of page ]

Posted by: subunit1 on 7/11/2006

First test ride with the Spenco Trail Pro Gloves. Other than the little rubber finger grips peeling off these are very comfortable gloves. They took a slide on gravel as well - with no breakdown of material. I am pleased with them. Here's my short video review:

Spenco Glove Review      [ top of page ]

Posted by: b-rad on 7/11/2006
I recieved a pair of the Spenco Trail Pro Gloves for use and review. The gloves have excellent protection in all the right places. The knuckles have a neoprene overlap over mesh that provide protection yet still breathable. Though, being here in Las Vegas I would probably choose the Heat Wave model next as the Trail Pro's are a little warm after a bit of wearing. The rubberized fingertips came off within the first ten minuts of riding. These are the little rubber spenco logos glued to the index and middle finger of each glove for stickier grip to the bike levers/shifters. I have only owned one pair of gloves that these rubberized finger add-ons haven't come off. The 'SHOCK_TEK' technology that is there to promote the continuance of blood flow really work. I expect my hands to go numb around mile 10 or after on every ride. My last three rides with these gloves were around 15 miles each ride and not once did I lose feeling or go numb. Quite nice I must say. I have crashed twice wearing these gloves. Of course amongst the rocks and cactus the Las Vegas valley happily provides. I have yet to tear through either glove or even leave of trace of these crashes. This impressed me the most as many new-ish gloves have fallen in just two or three rides from crashing and thrashing. Overall, I am determined to ruin these gloves for the sake of science. I have been thwarted thus far. I think I just need more time. I'll follow up once I have reached my goal. I am also logging the hours and miles I use these gloves to see just how long they will last.
