By creecrop on 11/29/2006 on creecrop's blog started our nite rides with the start of the time change, riding with the light and motion arc had a couple of rides with light on helmet ,moved to handles bars i am getting better depth perception on how deep ruts are with the bar mounted light ..last winter on nite rides i was running with 3 light one on helmet 2 on the bars all light and motion..also have had a few nite rider lights, old technology.it didnt hurt that i had a few friends and family who had worked and one still does work at light and motion.love supporting the locals, its the only way to live, lets preserve who we are . day or nite , singletrack or fire road , hard pack or sand , wet or dry , hot or cold , the dirt is ours, keep the cannons firing. |

Gotta love the night rides. To quote a bike mag from many years ago, "night riding is for those who like living on the edge, but who don't know where the edge is." I too do a fair amount of night riding. We've got a crew of 6 or so, all with HID's and most of us running 2. I run a Lights & Motion Arc Li-ion on my helmet and a Night Rider Flight on the bars. Killer set-up! I like the L&M on the helmet because it sits on the top of the helmet (rather than the front), so you don't feel the weight. And I like the NightRider on the bars since it has an LED setting that I use for the climbs. Our rides are about 3hrs, so I try to keep the lights off or in LED mode for the climbs. |
