The Story
The latest trend, according to interbike, seems to be a new wheel, size the 650B or 27.5".
I was just learning about the 29er phenomenon, when there is this! I wonder if this new size will supplant the 29" wheel as the new trend. Indications from interbike vids suggest just that. it has the best of both worlds, 26" and 29".
I guess I'm glad I didn't have resources to jump onto a 29er, because now it looks like this might be my new purchase.
Being on a budget, it makes me wonder about lack of standardization, and how much effect this type of trendsetting has on the cost of mass-producing bike parts.
Any thoughts on this?
