Womble Weekend Trip

This weekend is the Oral Roberts University mountain bike class trip.  I graduated last May but I've been going on the rides with them anyway.

Nothing like camping in the Ouachita Mountains for the weekend!  Skipping work on a Friday is awesome!

I usually take pictures, but I think I'm going to try and take some video instead.

I'll let you know how it goes!

Oh, and I got some new gear from a big sale at my LBS.

New saddle, co2 cartridges instead of pump, new shorts... that kind of stuff.

Hello from Arkansas!!

I'm in Malvern Arkansas, my name is Richie, and I have three beautiful children and a great wife. I grew up with the quintessential "things that are bad for you" family. Nothing illegal, just, you know, smokers, drinkers, do-not-get-off-the-couch kind of folks. I am trying to reverse 30 years of that kind of behavior, and I will stop at nothing to become that. I am tired of having a spare tire! I was once up to 260 lbs. I am down to 215 and holding. I am trading in the 40 extra pounds of fat for muscle. Well, I'm working on that anyway.

Great story about the 50-mile Syllamo trail in Arkansas

If you're a fan of Arkansas, then the story I read on MSNBC might excite you! I haven't been on the Syllamo trail, but the story tells it well! If you and I were riding on this trail right now, we'd be handling steep climbs and rocky descents. The surrounding countryside would blow our minds, as the trees cascade forever. The smell of the woods would rock our minds, because at 30 miles we'd be ready for a break. The beauty of Arkansas is how "Natural" it is!

Arkansas???
