By Steve Outing on 7/12/2006 on Steve Outing's blog Congratulations to 970biking (a.k.a., Andy), who's won our first best MTB action video contest for his "Road34 DJ Jam '06." He wins a GravityDropper adjustable seatpost. The video features some amazing bike tricks and riding at a "backyard" event near Fort Collins, Colorado. Take a look at the video if you haven't already. Fun stuff. The contest is the first YourMTB.com video competition since the site's debut. We plan to have more in the future, so keep submitting your videos to the site! I'm excited to see some of the videos that YourMTB.com members have submitted. Lots of you are taking helmet cams out on the trails, while others are producing nice edited video compilations of MTB events, races and friends' riding epics. This is the kind of stuff we wanted to give a home when we created YourMTB.com. This is Web video, so the quality of the viewing experience is not what you'll get watching a DVD, of course. But then again, the stuff that's showing up is not what you can find by driving over to your local Blockbuster video store. Some professionally produced videos also are finding their way to the YourMTB.com Videos page. We're not giving prizes for that, but here's the one we thought was the best submitted to the site so far: Roam, She's on a Mission by slackstring (BC Interior) Keep the videos coming, folks! By Steve Outing on 6/21/2006 on Steve Outing's blog Here at YourMTB.com we're fond of giving away stuff. We've got several contests running -- two of them that we just launched today: 1. Post your best MUD photos -- of your muddy bike, body or buddy -- to the YourMTB.com photo galleries by July 10, 2006. We'll pick the best 10 images and send the photographers each a $10 gift certificate to Pricepoint.com. 2. Show us your best example of mountain biking fashion. We want to see you (or your friends) whether you're a fashion god on the trails or a fashion disaster. Post your photo by July 14. We'll select one winner who will get $50 in Pricepoint.com gift certificates. |
