The newest Thomson Member of the Month wowed us with some great action photos during September. edlops has a fast shutter finger, apparently, because he captured his speedy friends flying through the air, sometimes in oh-so-cool machinegun-shutter style.

New schwag, new schwag! Woo hoo!

Another month gone; another month of sweet postings by the YourMTB.com community. And you know what that means - it was time once again to review the month that was, and see if the Maverick Member of the Month Selection Task Force could logically decide which member threw up the most amazing stuff.

Well, since we all know that logic has no place at Member of the Month Selection Task Force Very Important Summit meetings, eventually they decided on a new system of Site Posting Excellence Determination - a Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament. Kidding! It did take them a bit of extra time, but The Task Force eventually decided on a winner. Although they could only choose one, they wanted everyone to rest assured that you are still indeed special. (Warm fuzzies!) And now...on to the winner!

Now that himself06's reign is over, the kingdom of YourMTB was left without a new leader, a new monarch, a new chief, skipper, honcho, sachem and hefe - a new Maverick Member of the Month!

To reward our best contributors, every month the High Council of YourMTB.com Member Evaluation selects the site member who has submitted the raddest content over the course of the month, and sends him or her the most versatile and useful prize around: dinero. (The Council also sits around and makes up words, like "raddest.")

Several users posted some pretty cool stuff this month. But according to the Member Evaluation bi-laws, only one can be deemed The Most Awesomest. The YourMTB.com citizen who's shared the best content on the website in February was none other than nickrolfsmeier. Congratulations!

Another month, another slew of awesome postings to YourMTB.com, and another High Council of YourMTB.com Member Evaluation summit to determine who's been posting the most amazing stuff. The council has been busy - you guys don't make their job very easy.

They deliberated for days, pouring over a month's worth of fab user content, dealing with in-fighting and starvation (we cut them off after Day 3 for the sake of speediness).

The posting activity of YourMTB.com members this month was quality, so it took a bit of time, but a winner was chosen. The person who's shared the best and most stuff on the website in January was none other than Sarge. Congratulations!

We gave the award -- and $200 cash prize -- to Sarge because he's been one of the most active and enthusiastic members of YourMTB.com. Not only that, but as a Police Sergeant assigned to a mountain bike patrol unit in Central Point, Oregon, he's got a different take on the mountain biking scene than many of us. His stories and pictures about life on and off the job never fail to entertain us, he dispenses tips on how to train for some of the extremely technical riding his job requires, and he contributes to many other forums and threads on the site.

Congrats, Sarge! (By the way, a few members of the council would now like to talk to you about some parking, uh, "indiscretions" they'd love to see "go away.") :)

Every month, the High Council of YourMTB.com Member Evaluation toils for days over important decisions. Chicken or steak burritos for lunch? Ride the Heckler or the Nomad? Let Walker out of his cage today or tomorrow? And of course, our Member of the Month.

We'd like to thank YourMTB.com member mgersib for not only making the decision very easy, but for helping close out 2006 with a big MTB bang.

Congratulations to Matt, whose relatively new presence on YourMTB has so far been defined by posts that consistently invoke reactions of "awesome!" and "sweet!" and "HOW many metal plates does he have in his body?!" Yell for yourself by checking out the photos and videos he's shared in recent weeks. He's also been an active and amusing contributor to several forums and discussions.

The High Council will award Matt with $200 cash for his valuable contributions to our daily entertainment. And as Matt knows, in the bike industry, that's like $100 (see his best MTB joke in his resume).
