Mountain Bike sales

Okay...I've been reading a lot about these 29ers...and I have decided to put it to the website...what do you people think of them?

I understand the geometry, and the fact that the design is supposed to conserve energy and all of that, but are we looking at innovation here, or merely a fad? I have attached a link to a well-known website so that all of you can make an educated decision. I probably will not be running to my local shop to purchase some big wheels any time soon, but I would really appreciate the opinions of those here on the site. Thanks a lot and have a great ride.
