By walker on 7/18/2006 on walker's blog I'm trying something a little different here. I want to tell you about my weekend of serious climbing at the Mountain States Cup race in Snowmass and on Black Bear Pass near Ouray, Colorado. But instead of writing it up, I sat down in front of my video camera. This is an experiment. Tell me what you think! Should I keep doing these, or stick to the keyboard? |

My weekend: The (experimental) video
Chalk Creek Stampede: Hot and aerobic racing

Check out this video. Have you ever seen racers look so hot? Well, at the Chalk Creek Stampede in Nathrop, Colorado, last weekend, it was very hot, and windy. These racers are beginning the race with smiles and excitement. Later, I saw many of these same racers with the same smile on their face when they crossed the finish line. |
What are you doing this weekend?

By walker on 5/19/2006 on walker's blog Do you like to race your mountain bike? Do you push your lactic threshold on steep death climbs like the one I'll be riding in Angel Fire, NM? Mabye you save your legs for the endurance work. If so, you might be the 24-hour racer type. Or, maybe you hammer it hard on the weekends. It might be that you are faster than most racers; its just that you like to race your friends. Well, I race and this weekend I'm joining about a thousand other cross country racers, downhillers, mountain crossers, super d'ers and others in the first Mountain States Cup race. |
